Lighthouse after Covid

POOLE’s Lighthouse centre for the arts is closed, as part of the Covid-19 lockdown, but the team is looking ahead, announcing events for the summer,.

These include a performance of Elgar’s The Dream of Gerontius by Bournemouth Symphony Chorus, in memory of the choir’s trustee and music advisor, Sandrey Date, on Sunday 13th June at 7pm in the concert hall.

Other highlights include Protein Dance with The Little Prince, a charming story of love and friendship, on 12th and 13th November, and Vincent Simone, of Strictly Come Dancing, with his new show, Tango Passions, a celebration of classic Argentine dance, on 9th November..

BBC Folk Award winner Ben Walker and singer and pianist Kirsty Merryn will bring their concert, Life and the Land. to Poole on Saturday 3rd July. The show is described as a fresh take on England’s harvest tradition, reimagining songs born out of our agricultural past, drawing on classical, jazz and electronica, as well as traditional music.

And looking further ahead, Midge Ure brings his Voice and Visions tour. to Poole on 31st March 2022, celebrating 40 years since the release of the Ultravox albums Rage In Eden and Quartet, and there is a treat for cricket-lovers with Test Match Special Live on 15th April 2022, featuring Phil Tufnell and Michael Vaughan.
