A festive feast of harp and guitar

CELTIC Christmas Strings is a winter treat from harpist Máire Ní Chathasaigh and guitarist Chris Newman, on a short Artsreach tour from 14th to 16th December.

There is always something magical and ethereal about the music of the harp, and never more so than at Christmas.

Chris Newman and Máire Ní Chathasaigh are individually famed for originality, innovation and virtuosity on their instruments. Together they have created one of the most distinctive voices in modern acoustic music and brought their unique musical vision to venues large and small in 22 countries on five continents. .

Their Christmas show features traditional Irish music, swing jazz and bluegrass, plus festive favourites given a fresh voice with arrangements that are intricate, inventive, moving and beautiful, and performed in their characteristically heart-warming style.
