SHEKU Kanneh-Mason, the brilliant cellist who won the BBC Young Musician of the Year in 2016, is coming to Wells Cathedral to give two concerts on Wednesday 16th September, accompanied by members of the Fantasia Orchestra, with conductor Tom Fetherstonhaugh.
The programme will include Dvorak’s beautiful Cello Concerto in B Minor, a selection of Dvorak’s Slavonic Dances and Wagner’s Siegfried Idyll. The concerts are at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.
This will be the first concert hosted by the cathedral since the beginning of the coronavirus lockdown in March. “It is a delight to be able to welcome an audience back into the cathedral, especially for this wonderful programme of music performed by such talented musicians,” says Emily Risdon, of the cathedral’s marketing department.
