THE Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) will be at Knoll Gardens, Wimborne, on 22nd September to advise on choosing the best sort of food and feeders for garden birds.
More than half of adults in the UK feed birds in their garden but with an increasingly bewildering array of seed mixes and bird feeders now available, gardeners can be forgiven for being confused about how to choose the best products.
This event will be part of a special free open day for RSPB members and volunteers.
George Hinton of the RSPB said, “Providing garden birds with supplementary food brings them closer and enables us to enjoy their behaviour and wonderful colours – and it is a great way to get children engaged with wildlife.
“It’s important to make sure every bird in your garden – from small birds like robins and blue tits to larger birds like woodpeckers and blackbirds – gets the right kind of energy-rich food they need.”
