NEW dates before Christmas have been confirmed for two concerts at Wells Cathedral by the renowned violinist, Tasmin Little.
Earlier this month, the internationally renowned musician’s two planned Remembrance Concerts at Wells Cathedral were cancelled due to the second lockdown, so the cathedral authorities are thrilled to report the new dates in December.
Tasmin Little and Fantasia Orchestra have agreed to reschedule their visit to Wells Cathedral for two Classical Christmas Concerts at 7.30pm on Friday 18th and Saturday 19th December.
The programme will include Bach’s Violin Concerto in E Major – the final concerto performance of Tasmin’s career. She had announced her intention to retire in the summer of 2020 but postponed it to the end of the year, because of the pandemic. She has been a star of the concert platform for more than 30 years, and says she wants to focus on education and other non-performing projects.
The Wells concert programme will also include the Fantasia Orchestra performing Corelli’s Christmas Concerto, Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings, and some fantastic festive favourites!
Tickets must be booked via the cathedral website, wellscathedral.org.uk/events
