DORSET Opera Festival is hosting a special concert by members of the Royal Opera’s Jette Parker Young Artists’ Programme, at Milton Abbey on Saturday 28th April at 7.30.
The programme is designed to support the artistic development of talented singers at the beginning of their careers. The singers are employed as salaried members of the Royal Opera over a two-year period, during which time they are immersed in the life of the Royal Opera House, helping them form their own artistic identity and giving them guidance on their trajectory through the business. The future for members of the Jette Parker Programme is almost guaranteed.
In a rare appearance away from the ROH, four of this year’s JPYA young singers are Dorset Opera in the stunning setting of Milton Abbey, set in a 500-acre landscape created by Capability Brown.
The artists are tenor Thomas Atkins, soprano Haegee Lee, baritone Dominic Sedgwick and bass Simon Shibambum, accompanied by conductor and répétiteur James Hendry, another Jette Parker young artist.
Tickets are strictly limited, and include canapés and a glass of wine in the interval. For more details, telephone 01258 840000, email firstname.lastname@example.org or visit the website, www.dorsetopera.com
