Debut play at the egg

FOURTH Floor Theatre brings its debut play to Bath Theatre Royal’s egg from 25th to 27th July.

The Waiting Room by Sam Bailey is described as “a comic and heartfelt exploration of friendships, connection and the little matter of what comes next…”.  Fourth Floor is  the latest company to emerge from the TRB adult theatre school programme.

Set in the city, it follows the stories of  the fresh-faced, polo shirt-sporting employees of Bath’s beleaguered Adventure Tours as summertime tourists flock. How can you even begin to figure your life out when you have Romans, Royals and Ross from Friends to contend with? Throw in a heady Jane Austen romance, a bottle of tequila and the threat of redundancy and everything’s getting very complicated …

TRB’s Theatre School is open to anyone aged from five to 105 (and older!) and offers an inclusive series of workshops that cover all disciplines of theatre-making. All performers in Fourth Floor Theatre (named after the company’s rehearsal rooms on the fourth floor of the egg theatre) have been members of the adult Theatre School, working regularly with professional writers, directors and designers.

Performances of The Waiting Room are nightly at 7.30pm. For more details, telephone 01225 823409 or 448844 or visit the website, www.theatreroyal.org.uk
