THE Devon Guild of Crafts is reopening the shop and galleries at Bovey Tracey on Wednesday 8th July. The charity, the Devon Guild of Craftsmen, has been kept afloat and will continue to run the Guild for the craft makers and visitors.
A statement from the Guild has thanked everyone who has supported the organisation.
Devon Guild Ltd, has had to close, because of the financial damage caused by the pandemic.
The statement says: “We are pleased and determined to rebuild and continue to support our making community. As an education charity, we also know how important it is to get the doors open and to engage and inspire. Until we see how visitor numbers revive, our new opening hours are Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday 11am-5pm.”
Measures to ensure the safety of visitors and staff include a one-way system to allow customers space to enjoy exhibitions and browse in the shop safely; providing hand sanitiser throughout, which must be used upon arrival, as well as a shield at the till point; taking card payments only, and contactless where possible; regular deep cleaning and daily disinfecting of our facilities; and asking that visitors don’t come in groups larger than six people. The cafe and toilet facilities remain closed to the public.
