ANGEL Exit, the Dorset based theatre company which has produced The Ballad of Martha Brown, Moonfleet and The Secret Garden among other creations, has a new show, on tour and stopping at Bristol Wardrobe Theatre on Monday 17th July, and Lyme Regis on Thursday 20th, before its run at the Edinburgh Fringe.
The Drive is a two-hander, developed by Angel Exit founders Tamsin Fessey and Lynne Forbes with support from playwrights Nell Leyshon and Amy Rosenthal.
It is a story of two women on an unexpected road trip from London to Oslo. The further they get from home, the closer they get to confronting the demons of their shared past.
It’s about truth, friendship, the fragility of memory and coming of age in the 1990s. And who owns the truth when there is no proof.
The Marine Theatre in Lyme Regis has also been instrumental in the development of the play, which is performed there on Thursday 20th July at the early time of 6.30pm. The final pre-Edinburgh performance is the Exeter Bikeshed as part of the Boatshed Festival, on Friday 21st July at 7.30pm.
The Drive is at ZOO (venue 124) at Edinburgh from 4th to 19th August.
