GILLINGHAM Singers have a concert on saturday 25th June at the town’s Methodist Church, including Eternal Light: A Requiem, by Howard Goodall, the composer of both the Blackadder and Vicar of Dibley teme tunes.
The concert, postponed from 9th April because of Covid, encompasses music from the 16th, 18th and 20th centuries, including settings of Psalm 42 (Like as the Hart) by Palestrina, Herbert Howells and Mendelssohn.
The soloists are soprano Angela Ashworth and Baritone Tobias Rihm, the musical director is Geoff Allan and the accompanist is David Grierson.

Gillingham Singers is a friendly, non-auditioning amateur choir that has been in existence for more than 60 years. They rehearse on Monday evenings at Wyke Primary School, and perform two or three concerts a year, drawing on a repertoire of choral music from many genres.
