FOR the past 18 years, The Pantaloons have been touring shows with the aim of being experimental, eye-catching, moving and fun. This year’s programme is The War of the Worlds and Much Ado About Nothing, together making nine stops in the south and west on their nationwide tours.
The War of the Worlds is a “funny yet faithful adaptation using musical instruments, puppetry and enthusiasm to recreate deadly heat-rays, giant fighting-machines, squidgy-tentacled Martians and interplanetary warfare on an epic scale.” It comes to Midelney Manor at Langport on 24th June and Montacute House on the following night. It will also be performed at Churchinford Cricket Ground on 8th July, The Point at Southampton on 15th July and at The Plough outdoors at Great Torrington on Friday 19th August.
The ever-popular Much Ado About Nothing, one of two open air tours of the Shakespearean play this summer, will be at Highcliffe Castle on 30th June, Montacute House on 1st July, Great Torrington on 7th July and Churchinford on 13th August.
