Farming charity’s guide to coping with Covid-19 stress

YELLOW Wellies – officially the Farm Safety Foundation – is one of the charities boosted by cash from a £32 million support package announced by NFU Mutual, to help customers, communities, employees and agencies during the Covid-19 crisis.

The Farm Safety Foundation, which is affectionately known as Yellow Wellies, is a small independent charity founded and funded by NFU Mutual in 2014.

The charity works to preserve and protect the physical and mental wellbeing of those living and working in rural communities. The NFU Mutual funding has supported farm safety and other campaigns and mental wellbeing training to thousands across the UK.

Many in the industry, as across the country, are struggling with stress, anxiety and fear during the pandemic; it is a situation that can be exacerbated by isolation or working from home away from colleagues and friends.

To support NFU Mutual and its 850,000 members, the Farm Safety Foundation has put together a little book of practical advice and ways to care for your mental wellbeing, suggestions of where to learn more and a few small tweaks to your daily routine that may help. Find it at www.yellowwellies.org
