NOBODY skewers Christmas better than Alan Ayckbourn, and no play celebrates the family festive season in all its dysfunctional glory better than Season’s Greetings, chosen for the December production by Salisbury’s Studio Theatre.
Directed by Anthony von Roretz, this brutally funny comedy runs at the theatre in Ashley Road from Monday 3rd to Saturday 8th December at 7.30pm.
It’s Christmas time in the Bunker home, where Belinda and Neville host the traditional family gathering and assorted family members squabble and bitch their way through a host of annual rituals, home truths and some shocking surprises.
There are all the usual petty and not so petty arguments, a chaotically incompetent puppet show, romantic midnight shenanigans, perceived skulduggery and a seemingly tragic end …
It’s just another Christmas – who doesn’t recognise the scene? And isn’t it fun to laugh at other people’s miseries and mistakes!
The cast includes George Goulding and Caroline Butcher as Neville and Belinda, with Adam Barge, George Cotterill, Jill Cowling, Alistair Faulkner, Tim Greathead, Claire Jacobs and Kevin Murdoch.
Tickets are already sold out for several nights. For more information, telephone 01722 342860.
