Get married at Lyme’s 125 year old theatre

OVER its 125 year history, the Marine Theatre at Lyme Regis has been at the centre of the town’s cultural and social life – plays, concerts and community events … and now weddings!

For some time, couples have been hiring the seaside theatre for their wedding receptions, but the arts venue is now a fully licensed venue. So couples can hold their ceremony at the theatre, take advantage of the venue’s wedding partners, including bands, photographers and florists, and the high profile chef and restaurateur Mark Hix, who is the Marine’s patron, is a catering partner with his Oyster & Fish House in the town.

The theatre’s director, Gabby Rabbitts, says: “We’re so pleased to be able to offer families in our community the opportunity to celebrate here. Being on the water’s edge, the sea views make the Marine a desirable place to get married.

“While we’ll always be an arts venue at heart, the weddings we hold benefit the whole community, by supporting our cultural offering and partnering with local businesses on all the aspects of getting married.”
