FROME Drama Club will give two more performances of Heroes in the beautiful setting of Great Chalfield Manor on Wednesday and Thursday 17th and 18th July, after their sell-out shows in the Frome Festival.
Tom Stoppard translated and adapted Gerald Sibleyras’s Le Vent des Peupliers for this three hander, set in 1959 at a home for veterans of the 1914-18 War.
Directed by Simon Blacksell, is follows Philippe, Gustav and Henri as they relive former glories and plan their escape from the garden terrace of their unwelcome “home”.
The performance lasts around 90 minutes. In Frome performances are at the Assembly Rooms behind the Memorial Theatre, and at Great Chalfield will be in the garden if the weather holds, or indoors if rain should come. For more details of Great Chalfield telephone 01225 782239.
