SHOREHAM-based contemporary folk quartet Hatful of Rain returns to Dorset on 15th July at the Square and Compass in Worth Matravers.
The group specialises in British folk music without the stiff upper lip, mixing British and American styles, powerful songwriting with musical flare. They use a single microphone approach to create an intimate and engaging atmosphere.
Their new album, Songs of the Lost and Found, will be released on 1st July, and their traditional EP Climb the Air (four favourite traditional songs and one instrumental piece) was heard on Mark Radcliffe’s BBC Radio 2 folk show.
The band is comprised of James Shenton on fiddle, piano and whistle, Chloe Overton on vocals, guitar, mandolin and banjo, Phil Jones on double bass, banjo and vocals and Fred Gregory on guitar, mandolin and vocals.
