Hearing The Blizzard in full again

JUDY Collins returns to the UK, and to her many fans in the south and west, with a performance at Wimborne’s Tivoli Theatre on Sunday 19th January at 5pm.

She has recently joined forces with  Jonas Fjeld and bluegrass band Chatham County Line to revisit some previously recorded songs and add some new ones. The album, Winter Stories, celebrates a 60-year career and was released in November.

The single from it is Joni Mitchell’s River, following several other Judy covers of Joni songs, including  Both Sides Now, Michael From Mountains, Cactus Tree, Chelsea Morning and That Song About The Midway.

Winter Stories, a collection of classics and new tunes, includes a new version of Judy Collins’ hymn to the state she called home, Colorado. The Blizzard is a story of lost love and happenstance hope. Originally written as a lengthy opus and later truncated for an album, it returns to full length on  Winter Stories.
