THE coronavirus pandemic and lockdowns have hit every aspect of our lives, but few groups have been more badly affected than artists – visual and performing.
Shaftesbury Art Group regularly shows work at art fairs around the region, but Covid-19 has meant these have all been cancelled.
So members are glad to be able to show their work in a pre-Christmas exhibition at their home, Shaftesbury Arts Centre. The artists, including Andrea Jenkins, will be exhibiting in the arts centre gallery in Bell Street from 2nd to 8th December.
Shaftesbury Art Group meets on Monday afternoons in the Phoenix Room at the arts centre. There are 11 meetings in the autumn to Christmas period, 11 from January to April, and four in the summer, including (weather permitting!) some full or half-day outdoor sketching meetings.
The art group is open to all, but numbers are limited. For more information visit the arts centre website .www.shaftesburyartscentre.org.uk
