ONE of the country’s most charming country house hotels, Howard’s House at Teffont Evias has restored the original Coach House, restyling it as a luxurious space for parties, events and business functions.
The project to resurrect the disused Coach House involved more than 20 craftsmen, who have created an impressive new hospitality area with beautifully crafted stonework and impressive five metre high ceilings. There is elegant, comfortable seating, a cosy log burner and classic décor including striking artworks and a magnificent 19th century mirror.
The new space is suitable for private parties and functions, meetings, conferences and training sessions, celebrations and afternoon tea, buffets and drinks receptions.
At the official opening, Lord Thurso, president of the Tourism Society, said: “Real luxury is time, space, and personal hospitality. Howard’s House has been delivering it with charm and style for years. The newly restored Coach House is another wonderful addition to this secret gem.”
In recent years Howard’s House, which has repeatedly been voted England’s most romantic country house hotel, has received national acclaim from hospitality industry experts including Sally Shalam, Fiona Duncan and Tom Chesshyre for its location, high standards and outstanding seasonal cooking.
“Howard’s House is a very special place,” says partner Simon Greenwood. “Our commitment is to retaining our ‘home from home’ approach to hospitality, to creating a memorable, personalised experience for every guest.”
