Jon Boden solo before Remnant Kings tour

JON Boden, lead singer with Bellowhead and his own band the Rem­nant Kings, is on a short solo tour this spring, stopping at Taun­ton Brew­house on Saturday 21st April.

With the 11-piece Remnant Kings will will be at The Brook in Southampton on Tuesday 1st May, He is also playing 1st May, Bristol Colston Hall on 4th May and Exeter Phoenix on 5th May.

Jon is not only a powerful singer but a multi-instrumentalist. After twelve years, 250,000 album sales, seven singles playlisted on Radio 2 and hundreds of sold out venues, Bellowhead split in May 2016.

The Remnant Kings were described in The Observer as: “Gabriel-era Genesis with a dash of Bush and Bowie,” and the FT said the band “resurrects the brassy swagger of Bellowhead.”

The lineup features some familiar names: fellow Bellowheaders Sam Sweeney and Paul Sartin along with Leveret’s Rob Harbron and Ben Nicholls and Richard Warren from Kings of The South Seas.  Not to forget the Remnant Strings and the brass section, making up the band.

Jon’s solo dates include stripped-back versions of songs from his back catalogue.  For the Remnant Kings dates, Afterglow will be is played in its entirety with the live shows accentuated by ambitious lighting and an incredible full band sound.

And audiences will hear that Jon is now venturing into a more mainstream sound, although the folk music roots are still there.
