MEMBERS of the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra will congregate at Bournemouth Pavilion at 3.30pm on Sunday 20th May to play for live screenings of The Gruffalo and Room on the Broom.
Conducted by Terry Davies, the musicians will bring these enchanting stories to life in this concert for children and their families.
The concert is part of the BSO’s 125th anniversary celebrations. Since 22nd May 1893, the orchestra has been bringing high quality live music to adults and children across the world. In the 21st century, the BSO is committed to developing innovative ways to bring classical music to audiences of all ages.
The films are based on the books by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler. In the first half of the concert, the 2009 TV film The Gruffalo will be screened, and after the interval the 2012 TV film Room on the Broom follows. The star-studded voice cast includes James Corden, Helena Bonham Carter and David Walliams.
