THE ever-popular and poignant Willy Russell play with music, Blood Brothers, returns to Bath Theatre Royal from Tuesday 16th to Saturday 20th January.
The star of the 2018 tour is Lyn Paul, who returns to the award-winning production in the iconic leading role of Mrs Johnstone, the mother forced to choose between her children, and then to watch as fate weaves its malign spell.
The score includes A Bright New Day, Marilyn Monroe, and the showstopping finale song, Tell Me It’s Not True.
The epic tale of Liverpool life started as a play in 1981. It has since completed sell-out seasons in the US, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Japan and ran in London’s West End for 24 years.
Sean Jones and Mark Hutchinson reprise their roles as Mickey and Eddie having played the twins in the West End and on tour, including at Bath in 2013.
The Bath company includes Mathew Craig as the narrator, with Sarah Jane Buckley, Danielle Corlass, Danny Taylor, Tim Churchill, Amy-Jane Ollies, Andy Owens, Alison Crawford, Graham Martin, Josh Capper and Graeme Kinniburgh.
Blood Brothers is performed at Bath nightly with 2.30 matinees on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.
