THE second play in the new Tobacco Factory Theatres spring season is Arthur Miller’s A View from the Bridge, at the Bedminster theatre from Wednesday 18th April to Saturday 12th May.
Directed by TFT artistic director Mike Tweddle (making his directing debut), the production stars Mark Letheren as Eddie, Katy Stephens as Beatrice and Laura Waldren from BOVTS as Catherine. The cast also includes Stefan Adegbola as Marco, Simon Armstrong as Alfieri, Kirris Riviere as Louis, Joseph Tweedale as Rodolpho and Jack Riddiford as Mike.
Eddie Carbone is an honourable, hard-working man who has raised his niece Catherine like a daughter and loves her like nothing else. When his wife’s cousins arrive from Italy he’s proud to offer them safe harbour, but when Catherine falls for one of them, Eddie’s dark and dangerous struggle begins to surface.
In this fascinating and provocative exploration of a complicated man and the unravelling of his world, Miller exposes a society that values different people in tragically different ways.
Performances are from Monday to Saturday, with matinees at 2pm on Thursday and Saturday. The show is recommeded for audiences aged 12 and older.
