More flavours, less sugar from Purbeck Ice Cream

PURBECK Ice Cream has some exciting new flavours for 2020, recognising some of the changing tastes of today’s ice cream and sorbet lovers, and building on the list of multi award winning ice creams that have been made on the farm near Corfe Castle for more than 30 years.

A key change in consumers’ palates is the desire for less sugar, and the Purbeck team has responded by reducing the sugar content of the sorbets by 15 per cent. The effect is to produce stronger, brighter flavours.

Two new sorbets this year are Pink Grapefruit Sorbet, sharp yet satisfying, delightful on its own or as an accompaniment to add balance to an indulgent dessert, and Coconut Sorbet, a tropical treat made with coconut milk, smooth and full of flavour. Both will be the perfect cool taste for a hot summer’s day.

Due to popular demand, Purbeck Ice Cream has reintroduced Bucks Fizz Sorbet; a gorgeous balance of champagne and orange and the perfect indulgence for every celebration. Available in two-litre tubs, it is suitable for food-service as well as being a convenient size for the home freezer.

The Purbeck team has revitalised the Coconut Ice Cream as a smooth, satisfying and flavourful  choice – try it with a squeeze of fresh lime!

Satisfying the growing demand for vegan varieties, the 2020 Purbeck range includes vegan rhubarb and rosehip ripple – a riff on a classic British favourite, with an uplifting rosehip infusion and extra rhubarb rippled through to enhance the experience and punch the palate.
