SHAFTESBURY artist Zara McQueen was looking forward to a joint exhibition at Shaftesbury Arts Centre with fellow North Dorset artist Percy Lizzard, but Covid-19 and the latest lockdown put a stop to it.
However Zara and Percy have got together to show some of their new work online for two weeks.
Percy is best known for his deceptively simple and very appealing paintings of birds, while Zara has developed her work from figurative landscapes to striking abstracts, often drawing inspiration from the beautiful scenery of Dorset and Cranborne Chase.
Percy Lizzard studied at the Royal College of Art, tutored by some of the leading contemporary artists of the time. His paintings, which often feature brightly- coloured birds, fish and plants are influenced by the natural world and far-away destinations.
You can see the exhibition at www.lizzard-mcqueen.co.uk, for two weeks from 18th November.
