Ninebarrow band online gig

FANS of Dorset’s talented Ninebarrow folk duo were looking forward to a planned spring tour for the new Ninebarrow Band, but the coronavirus put a stop to it. Now they can enjoy the five-strong line-up online, playing a gig recorded live at Poole’s Lighthouse arts centre, at 7pm on Saturday 12th December.

BBC Folk Award nominees Jon Whitley and Jay Labouchardiere will be joined by cellist and long-term collaborator, Lee MacKenzie, with John Parker on double bass and Evan Carson on percussion. Sadly, the pandemic meant the cancellation of the entire tour.

During lockdown Jon and Jay played a series of innovative online concerts, with full HD video and studio quality sound, broadcasting from their home in Poole, from a candlelit church in Purbeck, and even live from a soggy field in North Dorset.

The Ninebarrow Band Live at Lighthouse will include new songs from their upcoming album and arrangements of some old favourites.

The streamed gig will include an introduction from their home and a live Q&A with Jon and Jay after the show.

An e-ticket, available from https://www.ninebarrow.co.uk/lighthouse will allow you and anyone in your household to watch the concert live online, or for seven days after the original broadcast.
