TOP comedians Nish Kumar and Josie Long are headlining the comedy line-up at this year’s Larmer Tree Festival, from 18th to 21st July.
Other big names coming to the boutique festival in the beautiful Larmer Tree Gardens at Tollard Royal are Ivo Graham, Stuart Goldsmith, Catherine Bohart, Jess Fostekew, Anna Mann and Laura Lexx.
Josie Long is one of the most respected and distinctive talents on the comedy circuit. Her recent sold-out shows at London’s Soho Theatre have been filmed for an hour-long BBC special. This multi-faceted performer also writes and presents Radio 4’s Short Cuts and investigated the growth of online comedy for BBC2’s The Culture Show.
Host of The Mash Report and panel show favourite Nish Kumar’s latest show is It’s In Your Nature to Destroy Yourselves, taking its title from a line in Terminator 2, promising “jokes about politics, mankind’s capacity for self-destruction and whether it will lead to the end of days.”
The comedy line-up will be completed by a special Edinburgh preview show each day, including performances by UK-based Japanese comedian Yuriko Kotani, the absurdist John Luke-Roberts; surreal storyteller Sarah Keyworth and Rob Auton, whose offbeat style finds engaging humour in seemingly mundane subjects.
The 29th Larmer Tree Festival follows the event’s reputation for throwing the ultimate family-friendly summer party in the heart of Cranborne Chase, with an eclectic lineup of music, comedy, theatre, arts and crafts workshops and more, plus Larmer Tree’s first ever cinema tent, showing everything from retro comedy classics to quirky indie gems.
On the music stages, the impressive line-up includes The Cat Empire, Kate Tempest, Jack Savoretti, The Shires, Gomez and KT Tunstall.
