SALISBURY Cathedral’s director of music David Halls is giving an organ recital on Wednesday 16th May at 7.30pm in aid of the Southern Cathedrals Festival.
The festival is an annual event that is hosted every year by one the three cathedrals of Salisbury, Chichester and Winchester, and involves the choirs from all three singing together and individually in a wide range of concerts and services.
It is one of the largest choral festivals in the country and this year Salisbury Cathedral is hosting the event in July.
On the programme for the fundraising recital on Wednesday there is music by Bach, Franck, Ireland and Widor – as well as one of David Halls’ own compositions, Hymn Tune Suite, copies of which will be available for purchase at the recital. All monies raised go to the Southern Cathedral Festival Fund.
A big screen will be available for those who would like to see into the organ loft during the recital. For those who do not wish to watch on the big screen seats are available in the Cathedral Quire.
