POOLE’s Lighthouse centre for the arts welcomes the multi-talented Phil Butler, heading the line-up at the first gig of the new season of Coastal Comedy, in the Sherling Studio on Saturday 21st April at 8pm.
Phil Butler uses comedy, magic and a few other skills he’s picked up along the way to create a one-man variety show. He has headlined in some of the UK’s leading comedy clubs and his act has taken him around the world, from Australia to the Middle East, the Caribbean to the Far East. He has entertained the British Forces at home and abroad, and was the first comedian to perform on the front line in Afghanistan, receiving the Operational Service Medal for his time there.
Coastal Comedy will be hosting a monthly stand-up comedy show at the Lighthouse. Each evening brings together a line-up of three professional comedians, in addition to a host, local comedian Adrienne Coles.
Opening the April show is Sunjai Arif, an engaging comedy storyteller who will leave you grinning from ear to ear. Also appearing will be Nathan Eagle, finalist for Leicester Square’s New Comedian of the Year 2017 and Spinnaker Tower Gong Show winner.
