DORSET poet Catherine Simmonds and artist Rachel Sargent have a second joint exhibition, from 29th September to 5th October at Shaftesbury Arts Centre.
The Plymouth gallery, in Hyde Park Road, will show Far West – A Cornish Coastline, following artist residencies at Cape Cornwall, where, Rachel says, “we delved into the rich natural history of that dynamic stretch of Cornish coastline.”
Sanctuary, at Shaftesbury, is described as “a reflection on our personal search for places of sanctuary.”
Rachel says: “It is all about places we have found to feel safe in, restore our equilibrium and renew our Spirits during our difficult times.”
Looking ahead to the autumn,Rachel will be running outdoor classes in the Living Classroom, in the woods near Durweston.
She also has work at the new shop in Shaftesbury, Folde on Gold Hill. It is a gift shop. book shop and gallery all rolled into one (they also stock our books, Deepest Dorset and Deepest Wiltshire.”
In their words they are “sharing our love of the Dorset landscape through word, art and adventures in nature.”
