Poole Harbour Festival does it for the kids

THIS year’s Poole Harbour Festival, from Friday 26th to Sunday 28th July,  is pulling out all the stops to entertain the kids this year with special appearances from favourite local children’s entertainer Krazy Kev and circus skills workshops hosted by Swamp Circus, England’s longest running circus.

The family-friendly weekend of music and fun takes over Poole’s Harbourside Park for three days of fun and music, with 40 live music acts on three stages, a dance tent, Big Top circus shows and fun stuff for the youngest festival goers.

Other highlights include UK Children’s Entertainer of the Year winner Mr Merlin with Okey Dokey Dragon and their comedy-magic show, craft workshops and the creepy-crawly Mad4Animals laughter show which recently won Dorset Mums Entertainer of the Year.

“Poole Harbour Festival is about maximum fun for all the family,’ says festival organiser Ben Dyas. “There’s a fantastic music line up across three stages and with free circus shows in the Big Top on Saturday and Sunday there’s loads for mums and dads to enjoy with their kids as well.”

The Friday main stage line-up includes Foo Fighters GB and UK Guns & Roses. Saturday’s bill is topped by Mungo Jerry of 1970s hit In the Summertime, with tribute acts including Jilted Generation (The Prodigy), and Ed Sheeran Experience and on Sunday there’s UK Queen, Tania Alboni’s Amy Winehouse tribute and a Madness set from Badness.

On the Harry Rocks second stage local bands include Black Water County, Saints of Sin, Pronghorn and Gaz Brookfield.
