A STAGE adaptation of the Oscar-winning film Rain Man comes to Bath Theatre Royal from Tuesday 15th to Saturday 19th January, at the start of its UK tour.
Starring Paul Nicholls as Raymond Babbitt and Chris Fountain as his brother Charlie, it is the story of a self-obsessed salesman (Charlie) who discovers he has an older brother who has inherited a massive fortune. Raymond is an autistic savant, with a remarkable memory and a genius for numbers.
Charlies determines to get his hands on what he considers to be his half of the money, and “borrows” Raymond from the institution in which he has spent most of his life. The two set off on a trip acrosss America, during which Charlie discovers Raymond’s true worth.
The touring cast is completed by Mairi Barclay, Elizabeth Carter, Adam Lilley and Dominic Taylor, and the production is directed by Jonathan O’Boyle.
