Recorded in the family croft

SINGER, harpist and BBC Radio 2 Folk Award Musician of the Year 2017 Rachel Newton is launching her fourth solo album, West,  with a UK tour stopping at Pound Arts in Corsham on Friday 12th October.

The solo album, featuring nothing but her voice and acoustic and electro harps,  was recorded in the old croft house owned by Rachel’s late grandparents in Achnahaird, Wester Ross. West was arranged and recorded on a beautifully sunny week in July 2018, with the help of longtime collaborator and sound engineer Mattie Foulds.

Rachel is a member of The Furrow Collective and The Shee as well as projects such as The Elizabethan Session and the upcoming Lost Words Spell Songs.

Both concerts start at 7.30. Contact the venues for more details.
