STRAIGHT from two nights playing on the Cutty Sark in Greenwich, Show of Hands and their guest, the wonderful American singer songwriter Richard Shindell, come to the Tivoli in Wimborne on Wednesday 8th May.
The tour continues in the south and west to Marlborough, Exeter, and Great Torrington, as well as dates in Cornwall.
Steve Knightley, a former Beaminster School teacher, and his longtime duo partner Phil Beer, join forces with long-term friend and collaborator Richard Shindell for their very own transatlantic Special Relationship show.
Born in New Jersey and now resident in Buenos Aires, Richard writes vivid songs that paint pictures and tell stories. Along with a selection of their own material, Steve and Phil will join Richard to add their sparkle on songs such as Reunion Hill, Next Best Western, Sparrows Point, Somewhere near Patterson and Waiting for the Storm.
From the Great War to the Civil War, from Bristol to Baltimore, expect a moving Anglo/American exchange of songs of the road, history and the heart.
Hear them at the Tiv, or at the Memorial Hall at Marlborough College on Wednesday 15th May, Exeter Corn Exchange on Thursday 16th or the Royal Horticultural Garden at Rosemoor, Great Torrington on Thursday 21st May, all starting at 8pm.
Phil Beer and Steve Knightly return south for the annual Abbotsbury Sub-Tropical Gardens get together, this year on Saturday 28th September, and also visit the Beehive in Honiton on Wednesday 30th October.
