Sherborne is in good spirits

SHERBORNE has its first Spirits Festival, organised by local off-licence Vineyards, on Saturday 7th September. The event, at the Digby Memorial Hall, will be an opportunity to sample some of the great range of spirits– gins, vodkas, cider brandy, rum – being produced in this area.

The festival, supported by local businesses including Liberty Fields, producers of apple aperitifs, an apple balsamic and apple vodka, is raising funds for Yeovil Heartbeat’s Heart Rehabilitation Group at Yeovil Hospital.

The new festival follows the success of last year’s GinFest, and is an opportunity for Vineyards to showcase some of the great spirits from their suppliers, and to support a good cause..

Once again there will be plenty of gin, but there will be spirits from around the world and across the spectrum – Japanese whiskey and sake, Peruvian Pisco, XO cognacs, vermouth, limoncello, vodka, rum, brandy, tequila, amaro, sambuca, white port, cider brandy, pomona, kummel, liqueurs. and more.

Visitors can sample any of the spirits on offer and speak to the distillers and suppliers. The event will also include the launch of the newest addition to the  Somerset Cider Brandy portfolio from the Temperley’s Burrow Hill Farm near Kingsbury Episcopi.
