Silent masterpiece at Studland

ONE of the silent era’s masterpieces, Nosferatu, is being shown at Studland village hall on Sunday 12th December, with live music by Minima.

The eerie, Gothic feel of FW Murnau’s astonishing film, and the chilling performance by Max Shrek as the vampire, set the template for many horror films that followed. Darkly humorous but also tender, it is a story of yearning and the search for fulfilment.

This screening of the original 1922 film will feature a new music score performed live by acclaimed soundscapers Minima, a Bristol based quartet who use instrumentation including cello, double bass, baritone guitar, acoustic and electric guitars, mandolin, autoharp, dulcimer, synthesiser, glockenspiel and drum kit to create a unique live experience.
