Sir Cliff is No 1 at the Regent

SIR Cliff Richard, Andre Rieu and Sheridan Smith are all great entertainers with a huge following – but they have another thing in common, satellite screenings of their shows at the Regent Centre at Christchurch have all topped the ratings with Event Cinema.

The Regent has just heard from the Event Cinema distributors that it is the No 1 Cinema in UK and Ireland for admissions to Cliff Richard’s 60th Anniversary Tour, which was screened twice last autumn, for Andre Rieu’s New Year Concert from Sydney, screened in January, Sheridan Smith in Funny Girl – The Musical, screened in November, An American in Paris – The Musical from the Dominion Theatre, shown at the Regent in May last year and The King and I from the London Palladium shown in November and December.

Tom Howson from Trafalgar Releasing, which licensed Funny Girl, An American in Paris and The King and I for screening at the Regent said: “Overall,  the Regent is the most consistently high performing cinema on our books.”

Regent Centre general manager, Felicity Porter said it was “incredible news … a fantastic start to the New Year and a great tribute to the staff and volunteers who work together so hard to make the Regent Centre the success story it is today.”
