Snow Globe, Kid Carpet at the Lantern, Bristol Colston Hall

JUDGING from the response from the excited children half-sitting on cushions around the “stage” in the Lantern, Kid Carpet’s Snow Globe is a great success.

With the audience on three sides, father and children’s entertainer Kit calls in all his musical and electronic gizmo talents to tell the story.

Gary Barlow has hired Kit the Snow Globe to make a show. Kit (and the rest of the audience) think the clue is in the name … SNOW.

But our Mr Barlow doesn’t like mess, and he’s sent his inspectors to make sure it doesn’t happen.

With nothing provided but a clever talking fridge, Kit is visited by Shackleton the explorer, the cleaner, the inspector, Ronaldo, Messi and Kylie Minogue (all of them played in coloured wigs by Susie Donkin). Together, they sing songs, play games and fend off the Evil Puffins.

There’s a lot of dancing and  inventive comedy and the kids love it. And of course, eventually, it snows!

The show is on at various times until 7th January, and it’s part of the Bristol Old Vic Christmas season. Contact the Old Vic for more details.
