EGYPTIAN-British singer Natacha Atlas, who first came to fame with with Transglobal Underground and Jah Wobble in the early 1990s, comes to Poole’s Lighthouse as part of the Studio Jazz Sessions on Friday 9th November.
With guest Randolph Matthews, Natacha, now a superstar on the world music scene best known for fusing Arabic and Western music, will play the intimate setting of Sherling Studio as part of her first UK tour for eight years.
In recent years she has moved closer jazz, notably with jher album Myriad Road, produced by eminent French-Lebanese trumpeter/composer Ibrahim Maalouf. She will be performing new and older material on this tour, for which she brings her hand picked band.
Randolph Matthews has been nominated by for the best live performance of 2018 by Jazz FM, cementing his standing as a rising star of the genre.
