Stunning setting for new arts festival

SCULPTURE by the Lakes, the home and outdoor gallery of sculptor Simon Gudgeon and his wife Monique, is the setting for a new three-day Dorset Arts Festival, from 3rd to 5th July.

The festival, set in and around the lakes at Pallington, near Dorchester, will be a showcase of art and music, with more than 50 artists, crafters, performers and musicians showing their work and their skills.

You will be able to watch painters at work, pots being thrown, jewellery being made and demonstrations of other arts and crafts disciplines.

Among those taking part is artist Nick Andrew, who is well known for his atmospheric paintings of light on water, particularly the river Wylye in south Wiltshire.

This will be one of the first outdoor arts events after the relaxation of the coronavirus lockdown – for more details, including safeguarding advice, visit www.sculpturebythelakes.co.uk/dorset-arts-festival
