DUKE’s Auction House at Dorchester will be the venue for a stylish fund-raising event for the Alcohol Education Trust – a vintage fashion show on Thursday 30th August, open from 3pm, with the main ticketed event from 6pm.
As well as the vintage clothes and accessories stalls, there will be cream teas provided by Yalbury and Yvon’s café, and an opportunity to look around Duke’s current auction.
Vintage stalls taking part include Jennie Veale of Alter Ego with bags, accessories and vintage items; Violet Pearl with vintage and retro clothing, homewares, jewellery and accessories; and Mary Moore Vintage, with a lifetime’s worth of clothing from all eras, pin up, rockabilly, retro or boho, from the 1940s, 1950s, 1960s and even the 1970s, from elegant cocktail dresses to casual florals or pedal pushers.
There will also be beautiful blooms in vintage china vases and an array of vintage clothing to browse at your leisure.
The main event starts at 6pm, with a reception and canapes and a vintage fashion show at 7.30pm. Special guests will be Paul Atterbury of the Antiques Roadshow and Kate Adie, the BBC’s former chief news correspondent fand presenter of From Our Own Correspondent.
All proceeds will go to the Dorset-based Alcohol Education Trust charity supporting parents, teachers and youth groups in keeping young people safe around alcohol. For more information visit www.alcoholeducationtrust.org
