THE summer exhibition at The Old School House gallery at Tincleton, which runs to Friday 17th August, features recent works by Philippa Headley, Colin Moore, Kim Pragnell, Ruth Ander, Jazmin Velasco, Claire Newman-Williams, Mary Gillett, alongside other gallery artists.
Pictured is a detail from Jurassic Cliffs, a dramatic painting of the Dorset coast by Kim Pragnell, a gallery regular whose painting is influenced by the work of late 19th, early 20th century painters.
His work exemplifies his Ruskin-type belief that drawing is the cornerstone of art. His interest in seascapes and landscapes, partly derives from his time in the Royal Navy and his rural existence once he left.
Kim is a watercolour painter, with a distinctive way of using the medium. He lives in Dorset and centres his painting in Dorset and nearby counties.
