WHAT does the river mean to you? A place to walk, fish, boat, swim, think? To celebrate World Rivers Day 2020, on 27th September, Wimborne Community Theatre (WCT) would like to hear your memories or thoughts about living near the rivers Stour and Allen.
Wimborne Community Theatre will be down by the River Allen on Saturday, 26th September from 10am to 2 pm, chatting to people about the Stour and Allen, with sound artist Adrian Newton, who will share his Sound Fishing recordings of the interior sound world of the Stour, captured with a pair of hydrophones suspended from fishing rods.
Come and have a cup of tea and a chat with WCT members at The Village Green at the Allendale centre.
Wimborne Community Theatre, a site-specific theatre group, is planning a new community theatre production for 2021, to be performed in or on the Allen (one of the purest wild chalk rivers in Europe) and Stour.
In preparation, members are collecting local people’s memories, ideas and stories about what it means to live close to these rivers.
