WIMBORNE’S festival of stories and story-telling, Sting in the Tale, returns this year, from Saturday 27th July to Saturday 3rd August, with a packed programme of tall tales, puppet shows, street theatre and more, for all ages.
The festival open with a flourish with Field of Stories, a full day of free family storytelling, crafts and activities on Saturday 27th July. Two giant tipis on Willow Walk will provide the venue for music, crafts and tories for families and children during the day, ending with an evening ticketed performance for adults by international storyteller Giles Abbott.
Events during the week range from familiar children’s stories The Ugly Duckling, The Selfish Giant and Little Red Riding Hood, to a Boggarts and How To Trick Them Trail, highwaymen’s tales, and Walking in the Field of Stars – Stories from the Night Sky, on Cranborne Chase.
The festival happens at various venues in and around Wimborne. For more details, visit the website, www.stinginthetale.org.uk
