The Opposite Sex at Sturminster Newton

MARK, Vicky, Judith and Eric have one thing in common. They don’t know what it is, but when they find out, all hell is going to break loose. So prepare for a lot of laughs as Sturminster Newton Amateur Dramatic Society stages The Opposite Sex at the Exchange from Thursday 28th to Saturday 30th October.

David Tristram’s contemporary farce is a bittersweet comedy of marriage and relationships. It is set in the 1980s and follows the ups and downs of two couples. It is directed by Denise Hobbs, in her first time directing for SNADS.

A popular choice for amateur groups, David Tristram has published 29 plays, including hilarious parodies of pop-culture genres such as soap operas and detective stories. His plays take a farcical view of sex, alcohol, drugs, crime, and theatre itself. Tristram claims he writes only comedy because he can’t take himself too seriously.
