Traditional tastes at Yeovil Farmers Market

foodprodmarket-yeovilARTISAN food and drink producers from Somerset and West Dorset will be in Middle Street, Yeovil, on Saturday, 23rd May, from 9am to 2pm, at the town’s farmers market. The array of products ranges from the traditional, including farmhouse cheese and cider to unusual meats and bee-friendly plants.

Marshwood Vale Cider will be there, selling their traditional ciders which have names from West Country apple orchards and wild life, including Tom Putt (pictured) and Lambert Pippin (old apple varieties) and Dorset Tit and Dorset Greenfinch.

Market regular Sam Loder from Love My Cake has been busy writing an article for the Farmers Weekly about how she diversified into cake-making in her farmhouse kitchen. Market manager Louise Hall says: “We are still holding out for an excellent pie-maker so if you are inspired by Sam’s story then why not bake us some pies!”

Other producers at this May market will be: Gould’s Farmhouse Cheese and Butter, Liberty Cakes UK, Dream Garden bee-friendly plants, Preserving Pan with jams and jellies, curds and chutneys, Olives’n’stuff, Sam’s Pigs, Sam’s Honey, Somerset Cheese Company, Taylors Traditional Bakers and  Westcountry Water Buffalo.
