Two nights of music at Oborne

THE Grange at Oborne hosts a weekend of music on Friday and Saturday 17th and 18th November, offering two different styles to the audience.

On Friday, Latvian baritone Paul Putnis performs a concert entitled  None but the Lonely Heart. He will be accompanied by Royal Academy professor of piano Diana Ketler.

His recital programme has Russian songs of love, romance, heartbreak and dances with death by composers including Borodin, Mussorgsky, Rachmaninov, Sviridov, Tchaikovsky and others.

On Saturday Songs of the Great War – vintage treasures, singalongs and surprises, art songs and enduringly popular songs, will be performed by mezzo-soprano Patricia Hammond accompanied by Matt Redman on a host of instruments from piano through to banjo and slide guitar.

Patricia’s stories and fantastic knowledge of music from the era will delight her audience.
