THE first UK tour of Mischief’s new hit show Groan Ups opens at Bath Theatre Royal on Thursday 12th August, running until Saturday 21st.
The company is best known for its hilarious shows that go wrong, guaranteed to fill theatres the length and breadth of the county.
The new show is a bit different – a comedy about growing up with all the roles played, at each age, by the same actors. Following an unruly classroom of six year-olds as they journey through anarchic teenage life to adulthood, Groan Ups asks the real questions – do we choose who we become? Is the story of our lives already written? Do we ever really grow up?
Co-writer Henry Lewis says, “At its heart Groan Ups is a joyful comedy, finding its fun in the madness of childhood, the agonies of adolescence and all the ridiculous things we do when we all finally pretend to be adults.”
It attracted rave reviews, and a visit from the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, when it opened in London in 209 at the Vaudeville Theatre.
The Bath cast includes Daniel Abbott, Jamie Birkett, Matt Cavendish, Killian Macardle, Yolanda Ovide Dharmesh Patel and Lauren Samuels.
There are nine evening performances and five matinees. For more details, contact Bath Theatre Royal or visit the website.
