Again … famous and with feeling

THE beautiful Art Deco theatre, Bridport’s Electric Palace, is the atmospheric backdrop for two shows that bring outspoken and hugely entertaining women to the stage – Ruby Wax with her new show Absolutely Famous on Friday 16th October, and comedians Flo and Joan and their With Feeling tour on Saturday 17th, with other local dates.

It’s almost easier to say whom Ruby Wax DIDN’T meet, interview and coax into revealing fascinating insights on her TV shows Ruby Wax Meets and Full Wax – Donald Trump, OJ Simpson, Pamela Anderson, Madonna and many more.

Her provocative, abrasive, incomparable style was – just about – kept in check by lifelong friend and A-list producer, Clive Tulloh. Now together again, live on stage, they review clips from the shows, tell scandalous stories never before heard – and take the audience along for the ride.

Flo and Joan combine music with comedy and they are back with a new show, With Feeling, trying to take up as much of the stage and as little of your patience as possible as they use a “real band’s” set-list to write their own show – ruminating on themes such as “what is music?” And “How do you be a band?” in their trademark sharp-tongued, deadpan way.

Flo and Joan are also at Poole’s Lighthouse arts centre on 29th October, Westlands at Yeovil on 31st October, Wyvern Theatre at Swindon on 21st November, and Bath Forum on 2nd December.
