A tapestry of music

BRUTON’s St Mary’s church is the elegant and historic setting for a concert on Sunday 18th February at 3pm.

Workings in Tapestry brings the family duo Faelan and Clare Sydenham back to Bruton, with a programme that explores the power of the recorder and harpsichord in the Renaissance and Baroque eras, and the way these instruments have ainspired composers in the 20th century too.

The duo took a musical hiatus during which Faelan completed his four-year studies at Guildhall School of Music and Drama whilst Clare organised and performed in numerous concerts and events, collaborating with musicians, schools and organisations.

The 20th century works include John Ireland’s musings on the Sussex pastoral landscape and a haunting piece by York Bowen.
